Full Disclosure

Free Offer Detective is an information site, only. With all of different types of offers out there on the web, we wanted to tell internet bargain hunters what kinds of deals they may (or may not) be encountering. That’s it. Period. We have no inside information on any of the Free Offer sites or the manufacturers/vendors whose ad banners they display. We go into each site we review, just like a potential customer would. But, we do it all in the name of investigative informational presentations—no agenda and nothing sinister. Then, we try to write accurate yet entertaining review articles about what we’ve found. We do many, many of these investigations; therefore, it would be financially prohibitive for us to participate in all of the offer requirements. That means we do not complete all of the requisite selections in order to obtain the incentive item being offered. We do go as far into the site as we can without incurring a major expense, but we do not know the process that comes after completing all of the requirements, other than what the FO site tells everyone in their Terms and Conditions pages.

The Free Offer Detective (FOD) goal is simply to find out how close to “free” these various sites actually come and then to tell what we found. FOD may participate in selected offers from time to time, just to be able to create more useful review articles. Then, we cancel the associations prior to the expiration of the trial period as allowed, returning all products (most often in unopened containers) at our expense.

Approaching these investigations from the standpoint of the consumer also means that, in our reviews, we could accidentally state misinterpreted information and/or misstated costs or charges. If this occurs, it will, of course, be totally unintentional. Generally, we are very careful about what we print in our reviews, even contacting the offering vendors and manufacturers directly to answer questions and avoid confusion. Also, FO sites are continually active, changing the ad/offer banners sometimes within minutes. This means that by the time you read our reviews, a number of the individual ad banners may be different than those that were in place when we visited the site. And, since the offering sites change or substitute their incentive items at their discretion, you may find the offered item to be different than the one upon which our review article was originally based. We will certainly do our best to keep up with these changes and remove links that have expired or are no longer valid, but we will not necessarily remove those that still link to a rewards item of comparable value.

And finally, Free Offer Detective is operated by affiliate internet marketers. So, to defray expenses, some of the links in our reviews will result in compensation for FOD. However, this will never have an effect on the information presented, and, if our writers are as good as they think they are, there will be no way for our readers to determine from the articles which of the links are compensated and which are not.

We will always welcome your inputs and suggestions on how we can make Free Offer Detective a more useful site. Please email the Head FOD by clicking here.
